WILLIAMS, William J. "Billy", Jr.
William J. "Billy" Williams Jr., of Middletown, beloved husband of Beth Gostyla Williams, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, (July 13, 2013) surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born in Meriden, August 20, 1947, a son of the late William J. Williams, Sr. and Loraine Howard Williams. Bill served an enlistment in the National Guard and was the owner and operator of Williams Private Sanitation in Meriden for over 45 years. In addition to his wife Beth, he is survived by his son, Christopher Williams of Thomaston; his two daughters, Lee McMillan of Georgetown, MA and Jonie McMillan of Middletown; his four legged companions, Whiskey, Tootsie, Chestnut and Itsy Bitsy; his sister Laural Neal of Middletown; and his brother James Williams and his wife Deloras of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Saturday, July 20, 2013, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden. www.wallingfordfh.com.

I always remembered something you said to me many, many years ago when we talked about death and dying. When I said I couldn't understand why God would allow children to die you said... "death is not a punishment, it is a reward". So...even though many hearts are aching and missing you....You deserve the biggest reward ever. Rest in Peace.

we are saddened to learn of the death of Bill Williams. We were his customer for over 42 years. We feel like we have lost a dependable friend. He was very courteous and professional. If our receptacles were not at the curb he would go around the back and get them. A person of that caliber is rare. We are truly sorry for your family's loss.

I'm very sorry to hear the lost Billy. I served with hm in the National guard and he was truly a good person. We had a lot of fun back then. You can be proud of him as a husband, a father, a friend and a teacher of life. We will miss him dearly.

Billy,
I can't believe that you are gone – too young and too quickly. I think I have known you since I was 7 or 8 years old or even younger – a very long time. You were kind and generous and such a hard, hard worker. I remember how thrilled my sister Kim and I were when you purchased way over forty boxes of Girl Scout cookies from us one of the years we sold them long ago. I'll always have fond memories of you and your dune buggy, your fire engine red Ford Fairlane convertible coupe with white pin striping, a winter trip to Constitution Plaza to see the Christmas lights followed by a show at The Bushnell to hear Jerry Lee Lewis perform, how you could “swish” the basketball from the far edge of my parents' driveway, your pipe and cigars, a giant 4 pound box of Valentine candy, trips to your uncle's rustic cabin in VT, a living room filled with Christmas presents, family gatherings, conversations about life, drinking Peachtree Schnapps with you, your dimples and your mannerisms – which your son (my nephew) Christopher inherited, and your friendship. It was too long since our last chat. It would have been nice to have one more. You will be missed. Rest in peace, my friend.

Billy, you are the best father I could have ever asked for. I learned to play poker because of our saturday night ritual poker nights, and we knew you let us win every time! Your love of trees became my passion. I am the person I am today because of you. There will not be one day that goes by that I do not think of you! I love you so very much!
