Alma Pilgrim Pickett, age 88, died April 2, 2012 at Bedford Care Center in Petal following a brief illness. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Moore Funeral Home followed by services at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. at Masonic Cemetery in Newton, Ms. Dr. Eddie Rester will officiate in Hattiesburg and Dr. John Cash will officiate in Newton.

Mrs. Pickett was a resident of Hattiesburg and former resident of Newton, Ms where she was a member of the Newton Christian Church. She retired many years ago and was a homemaker. She delighted in her family and her friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Tildon Pickett; her son, George Larry Pickett; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Pilgrim.

She is survived by her daughter, Martha P. Woodall (Don) of Hattiesburg; a sister, Mrs. Herbert Kelly of Newton (Jean); three granddaughters, Kimberly Woodall Morrison (Bill) of Howell, Mich., Erica Woodall Doyle (Neil) of Hendersonville, N.C. and Amanda Grace Woodall of Hattiesburg; three great-grandchildren, William Woodall Morrison, Leila Claire Doyle and Jordan Sophia Doyle.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Navajo Ministry at Parkway Heights United Methodist Church (2420 Hardy Street, Hattiesburg, Mississippi) or to the DuBard School for Children with Language Disorders at the University of Southern Mississippi (118 College Drive #10035, Hattiesburg Mississippi).
