Dr. Freeman was a favorite professor at NOBTS and the main reason I stayed on to pursue an Ed.D. in pastoral counseling. The joy and enthusiasm of his teaching sparked an excitement for learning, and the depth of his graciousness and Christian commitment remain an inspiration to this day - more than forty years after I had him in class and a decade after his passing.

Most fun I ever had in class as a student at NOBTS was in Dr. Freeman's classes. He was a breath of fresh air. The joy of Jesus was in him.
Rest in Peace Brother.

Dear Hellon and children,
Rod and I share your sorrow, he was such a wonderful man and we had some great times, Rod hunting and me and him debating politics on the computer. We will miss him dearly, he was always so spunky and full of life. Now he'll be with our lord and they can debate politics and be at peace.

Our love to you all

I have so many wonderful memories of Dr. Freeman...from church activities to playing on the "dirt hill" with Carroll, Jr. and Bryan, between your house on Johnston Drive and our house on Kilby Terrace. Being in his presence was always a joyous occasion, filled with laughter. I shall miss receiving his many emails each week. He was a patriot and a true man of God. Heaven is richer with him there.
