David Coleman Obituary
Petal
David Coleman, 68, of Petal, died Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Forrest General Hospital. Visitation will be Monday, January 23, 2017 at Petal Harvey Baptist Church from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with services immediately following at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mr. Coleman was a member of Petal Harvey Baptist Church. He was in the paper industry for over 30 years and retired as a maintenance planner at Georgia Pacific in 2005. After his retirement he opened Petal Farm and Garden, where he worked for five years. He coached summer baseball in the Dixie Majors in Petal for several years and took four teams to the World Series. He was an avid hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luel and Gladys Coleman.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine Coleman of Petal; two daughters, Shannon Decker (Mike Newsome) and Mary Ellen Mangum (Kris), both of Petal; six grandchildren, Cole Decker, Caroline Decker, Ally Mangum, Molly Mangum, Macy Mangum and Kristofer Mangum; one brother, Butch Coleman of Arkansas; and one sister, Ginger Coleman of Monroe, La.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Eric Hale and Dr. Josh Blair for the many years of care.
