Nhien Nguyen Obituary
Hattiesburg
Nhien Thi Nguyen, 80, passed away June 12, 2012, at her residence. She was born to Phieu and Vinh Nguyen in Vietnam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
She came to United States and lived in Pass Christian, MS. She later moved to Texas and then returned to MS where she currently resided in Hattiesburg.
Mrs. Nguyen was a homemaker and loved to Garden. She loved her God and her church first and foremost, loved her family, and made the best egg rolls in the world. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Luong Van Mai of Hattiesburg; son, Son Mai (Ngoc) of Bakersfield, CA ; son, Ha Mai (Lieu) of Arlington, Texas; daughter, Thu Mai Sellers (David) of Hattiesburg; son, Trieu Mai (Kim) of Grand Prairie, Texas; son, Dinh Mai (Uyen) of Renton, Washington; daughter, Jennifer Mai Cazares (Manuel) of Arlington, Texas; three sisters, Sanh Nguyen of Fresno, CA, Nhu Nguyen of Atlanta, Georgia, Sister Imelda Khuyen Nguyen of New Orleans, LA; one brother, Thu Nguyen of Marrero, LA; and ten grandchildren: Justin Hai An and Madeline Hong An Mai, Kevin Binh and Brandon Khang Mai, Nicholas Hoang and Natalie Hong Mai, Quinn, Elijah, and Kara Mai Sellers, and Christian Thien Mai.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phieu and Vinh Nguyen; one brother, Thanh Nguyen of Louisiana; and a one year old daughter, Duong Mai.
A mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 6 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2012 followed by visitation from 7-9 p.m.
