Mavis Davis Obituary
Mavis was born on July 6, 1946, to Jack G. Moore & Vera H. Moore (Hogg) in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The family immigrated to North America when Mavis was 3 years old, where she graduated from Rancho Alamitos High School in 1964.
She had a successful 26-year career as a Quality Engineer for Beckman Instruments where she traveled the world and paved the way for women in engineering.
In 1969, she met Jerry L. Davis and they wed in 1977, where she helped shape the lives of 3 children, Bobbi, Debbie, and Barry.
After retiring in 1993 Mavis spent her time traveling across the US with Jerry in their RV camping with friends, sewing, shopping, reading, playing scrabble online, spending time with her family, and crafted with the Peacemakers at Lamb of God Lutheran Church and quilted with the Mt. Olive Quilters at the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. The Peacemakers make baby quilts to donate to Healthy Families, Department of Children Safety, and Arizona's Children. The Mt. Olive Quilters donate quilts to the Lutheran World Relief and they use proceeds from selling other quilts to donate money to various Lake Havasu charities.
Mavis was predeceased in death by her parents Jack Moore, Vera Van Auken, and Maudrick "Van" Van Auken.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry L. Davis. Her sisters Valerie (Dan) Anderson and Vicky (Scott) Randall. Her children Bobbi (Dave) Burwell, Debbie (Chuck) Cook, and Barry (Deborah) Davis. Her grandchildren Erika Warren, Andrea (Tim) Gardner, Rachel Gray, Michael Duncan, William (Andrea) Duncan, BlaiR (Jordan) Redmond, Lisa Stadtmiller, and Brittni Davis. 11 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandson. Many nieces and nephews including Tyler (Wendy) Moore, Jack (Megan) Randall, Katie (Colton) Wirz, and Molly (Rob) Willis where Mavis was active in their lives including attending all sporting events, teaching them to sew and how to invest.

My deepest sympathy to Jerry and the family. So very sorry for your loss. I met Mavis in 1984 when she interviewed then hired me at Beckman. She was my boss for a few years, then co-worker and best of all a dear friend. Many good memories of a special lady. We both quilted but we never got to sew together. I´m sure her charities will miss her help. I will miss her for many reasons. RIP Mavis.

So sorry to hear about Mavis. We had the pleasure of meeting her and Jerry two years ago while visiting AZ. She was a great hostess and cook. Mavis was a remarkable trail blazing woman and so interesting to talk with. She´ll be missed by many. With deepest sympathy
