Pamela Los Obituary

Pam Los left us, to be with the Lord, on October 30, 2024, while she was peacefully watching TV at home. Her departure from our lives ended a 24-year struggle with COPD. Pam was born on May 8, 1942, in Manitowoc, WI, to Arthur and Jeanette Butler. After graduating from Oak Creek High School, in 1960, Pam joined the United States Air Force, and worked as a computer programmer, at Homestead Air Force Base, in Florida. Following her discharge in 1964, Pam continued to work as a civilian computer programmer, for 10 years, at the U. S.
Navy Regional Finance Center in San Diego, CA. In 1975 Pam returned to WI to attend a 15-year high school class reunion, where she re-met her high school friend and classmate Douglas Los, whose band had been hired to play for the reunion. Pam and Doug were both single parents at this time. One year later, on July 17, 1976, they combined their families and married. Pam continued working as a computer programmer at Miller Brewing Co. in Milwaukee. In 1980 Pam and Doug decided to escape the harsh WI winters and move to Las Vegas, NV. Pam worked for the next 22 years, as a computer programmer at Southwest Gas Corp. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, at UNLV in 1989. In 2002 Pam and Doug retired and moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ where they joined the Community Presbyterian Church. God has always been a vital part of Pam's life. She served as a Deacon and enjoyed social activities with the Presbyterian Women's Club. She was also active with the Lake Havasu Christian Women's Association. In 2022 the church changed its name to Christ Chapel.
Pam and Doug almost always owned an RV and enjoyed travel throughout their wonderful 48-year marriage. Since retirement in 2002, they enjoyed an annual 2-month road trip to WI, TN, and TX, as well as many shorter trips throughout the southwest. During the past 4 years they also enjoyed attending rallies with the Newmar Kountry Klub, a motorhome club. While in WI this past July, Pam suddenly felt worse and required oxygen 24/7. She spent 5 days in Waukesha Memorial Hospital where they diagnosed Atrial Fibrillation, a condition that greatly exacerbated her COPD. Pam remained on oxygen 24/7 during the last 4 months of her life.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Jeanette Butler, sister-in-law Kathleen Panka, and brother-in-law Larry Gorniak. Pam was deeply loved, respected, and admired by all who knew her. She was truly a most wonderful
and remarkable woman in every respect. Family members who will always cherish and honor the thousands of beautiful memories Pam gave us include her loving husband of 48 years, Douglas Los; Pam meant the world to him, her children Steven Los (Amy), and Erik Los, and her grandchildren Quinten and Julia. Pam is also survived by her sister Penny Gorniak, brothers-in-law Michael Los (Catherine), Thomas Los, and Martin Los (Nancy), and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Pam will be deeply missed by all of us.
Pam was truly a child of God. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday December 7, 2024, at Christ Chapel Presbyterian Church, at 11:00 A. M., 3450 Chemehuevi Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406. All are welcome. Please join us if you can. Nothing is required except your love for Pam, and a desire to share wonderful memories and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, you might consider a donation to Christ Chapel Presbyterian Church. Any flowers donated will be given to local nursing homes after the service.
