Eva Mae "Nan" Combs, 74, of Buckhorn, passed away Wednesday, July 23, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late James and Bernice Hamblin, and was a retired school teached with the Perry County School System for many years. She was a lifelong resident of Buckhorn.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Combs; one sister, Ronola Hamblin; and one brother, Lee Hamblin.
She is survived by one son, Brian and Sharon Combs, of Buckhorn; three daughters, Dodie and Ron Turner, of Buckhorn, Phyllis Combs, of Hazard, and Angie and Ray Jr. Spicer, of Buckhorn; three brothers, Foster Hamblin, of Texas, Russell Hamblin, of Richmond, and Tony Hamblin, of Georgetown; one sister, Jo Eversole; eight grandchildren, Beth Jamey, Stephany, Andy, Matt, Brook, Sarah-Mae, and Jesse; one great-grandson, Ryan; and a host of other relatives and friends survive.
Arrangements were handled by the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard. Family received friends after 5 p.m., Friday, July 25, at the Buckhorn Log Cathedral, and funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 26, with Tom and Gail Burns officiating. Interment was at the Laurel Pointe Cemetery in Buckhorn.
