Mr. Ray "Slick" Combs born January 26, 1949 departed this life on Tuesday June 30, 2015 at the Hazard A.R.H. being 66-years, 5-months, and 4-days old. Ray was born in Yeaddiss, KY the son of the late Jim Combs and the late Ethel Shell Combs. Ray was also preceded in death by his Brother, Danny Combs; Sister, Shirley Faye Caudill; Grandmother, Cindy Shell; Half-Brother, Jack Combs; Two Half-Sisters, Margie Williams and Molly Asher. Ray was a Member of the Beatty Branch Church of God in Christ Jesus Name and enjoyed Gardening, Building, and was a Wonderful Papaw.
Mr. Ray "Slick" Combs leaves the following relatives surviving: Wife, Lydia Combs of Viper; Son, Andy Ray Combs of Viper; Two Daughters, Crystal Melton & Wallace of Viper and Cindy Elizabeth Combs of Viper; Two Grandchildren, Daniel Jakob and Kristian Danielle; Brother, Jimmy W. Combs of Yeaddiss; Two Sisters, Ruby Westcott & Lew of Corbin, KY and Sue Vaughn & Donald of Rowan County; Two Half-Brothers, Logan Combs & Bonnie of Michigan and Jimmy Combs of Michigan; Three Half-Sisters, Janis Howell of Michigan, Helen Lambert & Bill of Michigan and Dorothy Campbell & Ruly of Letcher County; Extended Family, Ellen, Jessica, Matt, Tracy and Elaina; Also a host of other Relatives, Friends, and Church Family also survives.
Funeral Services for Mr. Ray "Slick" Combs will be conducted on Saturday July 4, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Beatty Branch Church of God in Christ Jesus Name at Cutshin with Brother Larry Lewis officiating. The Interment will follow in the Jim Baker Cemetery located at Cutshin. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Friday Evening from 6:00 till 9:00 P.M.
