LA GRANGE
Ferenc "Frank" X. Vegh, Sr., age 90, of La Grange passed away Monday, March 23, 2026. Frank was a welder with BF Goodrich for 17 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and also served in the Hungarian Army. He enjoyed his time in his vineyard and farming. He was the son of the late Mihály and Julianna (Király) Végh and was preceded in death by two sisters, Mária Szabó and Julianna Felena and a brother, Mihály Végh.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Aleise "Scoobie" Vegh of La Grange; daughter, Stephanie V. Moorman of Shelbyville; sons,
Ferenc X. Vegh, Jr. of Shelbyville, Eric M. Vegh (Lori) of Eminence and Christopher D. Vegh of Port Royal; grandchildren, Kate Doane (Matt), Emily Payton (Jared), Rachel Cruse (Robbie), Danielle Moorman (Parker Palmer) and Nathan Vegh; and great-grandchildren, Julianna Doane, Emilia Doane, Jack Payton, Isla Doane and Ben Payton.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in La Grange. There will be a bereavement meal directly following Mass at the church followed by 3 p.m. Graveside at Resthaven Memorial Park. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Matt Doane, Jared Payton, Robbie Cruse, Parker Palmer, Nathan Vegh and Ferenc Weiger.
Memorial contributions may be given to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306 or Hosparus, 6200 Dutchmans Ln, Louisville, KY 40205.
Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
