Rose Marie Robinson Graham Bertelkamp, 88
NEW CASTLE
Rose Marie (Robinson) Graham Bertelkamp, age 88, of New Castle, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, at the Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Danville. The daughter of the late Joseph Preston and Eudora (Clemmons) Robinson, she was born on Tuesday, June 22, 1937, and raised in Lexington as a young girl with her nine brothers and sisters. After high school, she began her lifelong career at Kroger, beginning at the Eastland store in Lexington and ending in La Grange. Over her decades of long service to the company she worked hard and moved into a supervisor role over various departments. After the tragic passing of her first husband, Richard Clifford Graham in April of 1970, Rose continued with strength raising her two sons. In 1972 she met the second love of her life and married Charles Robert "Bob" Bertelkamp, who preceded her in death this March. Together with their blended family they created a life full of love, laughter and happiness. They bought a farm in Henry County, where they would build a home, farm the land and become valued community members. She and Bob enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing and making countless memories. A longtime member of Sligo Baptist Church, she was very involved in the activities of the church and played a vital role in the growth and building of the church. Following Roses' retirement, she honed into her creative spirit, painting beautiful works of art that she gifted to her beloved family and friends. She lived her life with the beauty and grace that was true to her name, "Rose", touching the hearts and lives of those who were blessed to know her. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Eugene Graham; grandsons, Shawn Pippin and Jason Richardson; sisters, Anna Littral, Florence Ruggles, Betty Coffey, Mildred Clem, Mary Deering and Dorothy Robinson; and brothers, Billy Robinson and Eugene Robinson.
She is survived by her sons, Guy Richard Graham of Danville and Raymond Louis "Bud" Bertelkamp (Vickie) of Louisville; daughters, Marsha Pippin Geary (Mike) of Louisville and Robin Richardson (Don Newton) of Louisville; daughter-in-law, Kelli Graham of Fla.; sisters, Martha Bailey and Joyce Craig of Versailles; brother, Robert Wayne Robinson (Gloria) of Georgetown; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
