Jimmy Erwin Obituary

Jimmy Douglas Erwin of Dallas, Texas, passed from this life peacefully at his home on September 24, 2022 at the age of 79 with his wife and sons close to his side. His family including grandchildren, sisters, nephews, and close friends were nearby and helped him celebrate life with music, conversation, and love throughout his final days which were spent at home. Born in Forth Worth, Texas he attended the University of Texas at Arlington where he studied Architectural Engineering which he pursued in night classes while working a full time job during the day. He spent his entire career in the construction and real estate development. He loved his work and he continued consulting in the real estate industry throughout his life.

In 1973 he traveled to Mississippi to build a project for a construction firm and there he met and married Cheryl J. Carlson. They have two children, both of whom followed Jimmy into the business world. In his spare time Jimmy enjoyed playing golf, taking care of his home, visiting, and singing with family and friends. Above all Jimmy enjoyed supporting his family in everything that they did in the world and in the home. He was especially proud to see his grandsons' love of sports, as he was himself a lifelong fan of the University of Texas and the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl, his children Jamie Erwin of Spring, Texas and Jeffrey Erwin of Salt Lake City, Utah; two grandchildren; and an extended family.
