DAVID J. BRULL July 5, 1955 - March 26, 2023 David J. Brull, formerly of Hays, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at his home in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was 67. Dave was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2020. Dave was born July 5, 1955, in Hays, Kansas to Francis and Pia (Wasinger) Brull. He graduated from Hays High School and attended Fort Hays State University for several years. He married Janet Papenfus on August 18, 1990, in Golden, Colorado. A talented musician, Dave was happiest behind a keyboard playing music with his friends. He parlayed his talent into a music-centric career in radio, music equipment sales, and, most recently, theater performance production. Dave had an incredible knack for fully appreciating life's simple pleasures. He found any excuse to spend time in the Colorado sunshine, whether that meant camping, biking, or barbecuing his world-famous ribs. Preferably these activities occurred in the presence of his family, whom he adored above all else. He is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Gabriel and Amelia; and brothers, Randy (Carol) and Bernie. A celebration of life will be held at 12pm on Saturday, April 8th at the Lake Sherwood Neighborhood Clubhouse: 2700 Silver Creek Dr, Fort Collins, Colorado 80525.
