Adele "Heidi" Marguerite Kelly

May 21, 1945 - October 13, 2021

On the afternoon of October 13, 2021, Heidi passed away peacefully in her sleep at home. Heidi was 76 years old.

Adelheid Lux was born in Eastern Germany on May 21, 1945. She was the second of seven children born to Charlotte Brieger and Alfred Lux.

Heidi spent her first fourteen years in Germany with her mother, father, and siblings. Post-World War II they had lost their home and had to move around often. It wasn't until April of 1957 when the entire family came through Ellis Island before settling in Elgin, IL, where a lot of the extended family still reside today. Heidi would spend her first years in Elgin helping with siblings, attending school and working. It was on a beautiful spring day she remembers going with her father to Jim Kelly Ford in Dundee, IL to purchase a vehicle, that her life would forever be changed. On this day she met the love of her life. James "Jim" Dean Kelly would be the most amazing man to ever walk into her life. Together they welcomed three beautiful daughters, Jeannie, Charlotte, and Nicole. The girls have fond memories of all their parents did for them that will last a lifetime.

Sadly, in June 1988 Heidi would lose the love of her life to cancer and would hold their relationship and memories so close to her heart until her very last moments. Heidi never let his memories fade. Our family will honor them both and continue to carry on the memories of them. Heidi's family has found comfort in knowing they are once again together.

During her career most would say Heidi was an entrepreneur, she helped her husband run multiple auto dealerships, a car wash, and leasing and rental company, but by far one of her most cherished endeavors would be founding and operating Heidi's Doll House in Long Grove, IL as a certified "Doll Doctor". One of her most favorite things, besides her family, was giving dolls new life. Anyone that knew Heidi could almost guarantee that if you made a trip over to visit her you would be greeted by at least a couple dolls dressed to the nines and ready for the next upcoming holiday.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and friend Heidi was a "Omi" (grandmother) like no other. She was so proud of her twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Any chance she had she would praise them and would constantly tell her friends and other family how proud she was of each and every one of her children.

Heidi was preceded in death by her loving husband James "Jim" Dean Kelly, father Alfred Lux, mother Charlotte Lux, brother Edmond Lux, brother -in-law Trevor Bauman, brother-in-law Michael Silbert, and nephew Michael Torok.

Heidi is survived by daughters Jeannie (Henry) Worsech, Charlotte (Gregory) Tredup, Nicole (Alex) Dmyterko. Siblings Angie Bauman, Sigrid (Jesse) Hickey, Barbra (Roland) Torok, Alfred (Annett) Lux, Charlette M. Lux. Grandchildren James Worsech, Jessica (Bo) Williams, Jordan (Sabrina) Tredup, Tyler (Lauren) Tredup, Colton Tredup, Gregory Dmyterko, Zachary Dmyterko, Nathan (Trish) Wilson. Great - Grandchildren Gabriel Williams, Dillynn Williams, Claire Tredup, and Madison Wilson. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
