Ed, Harry Joslin, Roland Fisher, and my dad Bob Downs, we're friends since high school. I remember meeting Ed and his wife at their 30th class reunion. The 4 of them were so funny and shared ma6of their practical jokes they played on each other. My mom, Doris Downs Powel, and I were able to visit Ed and his wife in Washington in the 80s and were greeted with love and hospitality.

Ed and my dad, Harry Joslin Jr, grew up together in Helena. Harry spoke fondly of Ed until Harry's passing in April 2013. He would tell stories of their adventures and of their respective families since they grew up together in the neighborhood of Butte Ave. in Helena, MT. I was delighted to be able to meet Ed at a gathering that Harry and Sylvia hosted at their home south of Helena in the 80's. It is poignant to watch the chapter close on the old guard. What amazing lives they lived!
