Barbara Richmond Obituary
Barbara Lynn Tate-Richmond gained her wings to be with our Heavenly Father on October 10, 2023, at her home in Lawton. She was surrounded by her loving husband, Daniel Richmond, of whom survives her transition. Barbara and Daniel met by accident when her 1972 long Cadillac Eldorado caught fire. Her knight in shining armor came to her rescue. They were united in holy matrimony on January 5, 1993. She knew the Lord for herself and had accepted the Lord as her Savior. She lost her brave and long battle with cancer but not without leaving her love and smile on the ones that she loved and loved her.
Barbara was born on May 5, 1968 in Mexico, Mo. to the late Basil, Sr. and Willie Mae Tate. She was the youngest child. She received her education at North Callaway R-1 School District, graduating in 1987. She worked with troubled youth in several capacities before going into real estate. She worked for Keller Williams and Century 21 Clover Realty for several years as a Real Estate Consultant. After a short time, Barbara and Danny became a dynamic husband and wife team, managing their own rental properties. She had a passion for buying and selling anything, and she did very well. Barbara had a passion and love for animals, especially Shar-Pei dogs. Her love for Mocha (a Shar-Pei) was just like her own child and family. She treated her with so much love. Barbara enjoyed country living.
Barbara leaves to cherish her loving memories and smile, Daniel Richmond, her husband of 30 years; three brothers, Leroy (Rochelle) Tate of Windsor, Calif., Charles (Carolyn) Tate of Shorewood, Ill. and Harold Tate of Auxvasse, Mo.; one sister, Dr. Betty (Rev. Kevin) Veasy of McKinney, Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Tate of Stone Mountain, Ga.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Trudie Richmond of Fulton, Mo.; brothers-in-law, Paul Richmond of Fulton, Mo. and Michael (Tamecia) Richmond of Raymore, Mo.; along with a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Basil Tate, Jr. and Fred Tate; and two nephews, Cavelle Tate and Xavion Bryant.
