Alice Faye Fricke

ALICE FAYE SAUNDERS FRICKE, 89, of Huntington, WV, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025, in Woodlands Retirement Community. Alice was born February 25, 1936, in Logan, WV, a daughter of the late Ollie and Martha (Estep) Saunders.
Alice was a graduate of Huntington High School and Huntington Business School. She married Arthur Lee Fricke in 1954, and enjoyed 63 happy years of companionship with him as they lived in various parts of the US and traveled in many countries throughout the world before his death in 2017.
They had three children: Alice K. Fricke of New York City, NY, Marsha L. Fricke Dow of Atlanta, GA, and Arthur C. Fricke of Austin, TX. They were also the proud grandparents of Allison E. Dow and James M. Dow, both of Atlanta, GA.
Alice was a devout Christian and a housewife who spent much of her time at volunteer work on issues relating to children. She taught Sunday school, Bible school, and was involved in her children's school activities. After they were older, she worked for more than 15 years as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children. She was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church.
Alice is survived by her children and grandchildren, her sister Mabel Little and brother-in-law Carl Little, sisters-in-law Peggy Franklin Saunders and Shirley Fricke Dudley, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved.
A memorial service for Alice will be held at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, 721 12th Avenue, Huntington, WV, on Saturday, January 31 at 11 a.m.
