Alta Smith Obituary
ALTA LUCILLE SMITH, 93, of Glenwood, WV, passed away July 23, 2024. She was born September 10, 1930, in Glenwood, daughter of the late Homer and Eva Walls Rife. She was also preceded in death by her husband Calvin Hensley Smith; sons Roger and Jerry Smith; siblings Nelson, Joe, Corneila, Carl, Annie, Hazel, Johnnie; grandson David; three great-grandsons, Brian, Colton, and Ryan Smith. She is survived by one daughter, Karen and Bill Saunders of Glenwood, WV, with whom she made her home,; two sons Howard and Linda Smith of Glenwood, and Darrell and Nancy Smith of Glenwood; grandchildren Mark and Matthew Smith, Wes Smith, Tracy Diehl, Jeff and Denver Saunders; several great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Pastor Don Reynolds. Burial will be in Saunders-Smith Cemetery, Glenwood. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
