Annie L. Smith

ANNIE L. SMITH, of Huntington, WV, passed away October 29, 2025 at the age of Eighty-Three years, Three months and One day. She was born July 28, 1942 to the late Mary Wynn Basnight and George Basnight and is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald E. Smith; and three siblings, Velma Owens, Lula Midgette and George Basnight Jr.
Annie retired from Marshall University after thirty years of work for their Residential Services.
Those left to cherish her memory include two children, Sheila Ferrell (Eric Braye) of Burlington, NC and Deborah Fair (Julious L. Fair Jr) of New Bern, NC; special daughter, Angela Kincaid of Huntington, WV; special granddaughter, Danne' Ferrell-Wingate of Durham, NC; grandson-in-law, Alonzo Wingate of Raleigh, NC; three great-grandchildren, Jonovan, Chance, Braylon; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins (Owens', Midgette's, Basnight's & Tynes'), family and friends who loved her very much.
A Home Going service will be 11 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2025 at First Baptist Church, Huntington, WV with Pastor Anthony Stradwick officiating. Interment will immediately follow services at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2025 at First Baptist Church, Huntington, WV. Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington, WV has been entrusted with caring for the Smith family.
