Benjamin Miller Obituary


BENJAMIN SCOTT MILLER, age 64, of Barboursville, WV, passed away suddenly on October 19, 2025. He was born in Kanawha City and raised in Ravenswood, WV. Scott graduated from Ravenswood High School with the Class of 1979. He attended Marshall University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Business and a master's degree in Leadership Studies.
Scott and his business partner, Tom Lookabaugh, founded Citizens First Bank in Ravenswood in the early 2000s. After CFB, Scott went on to work as a commercial loan officer with United Bank. Within five years, he became Vice President of the Marshall University Foundation. In 2019, Scott retired.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy, and his parents, Sonny and Ann Miller. Scott leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Terri Stanley Miller; son, Ben (Lauren); and daughter, Rachel (David) Dennis, along with five beautiful grandchildren: Luke, Ramsey, Owen, Charlotte, and Jonah.
Scott was an avid collector of Blenko glass and had one of the most impressive collections in the United States. He will be greatly missed.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life on November 8, 2025, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, WV.

I remember Scott as an avid runner. I asked him once how many races he had won. He said with a grin, "None, but I've got a lot of t -shirts."

Scott was a good man, a community leader, and a Christian.
