Bert Crit Combs

BERT CRIT COMBS, loving husband of 50 years to Sharon Napier Combs, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Ray Williamson, Michael Dillon, Doug Booton, Roger Ross and Phil Williamson. Burial will follow at Napier Cemetery, Wayne, W.Va. He was born February 11, 1953, in Harts, W.Va., a son of Jerry Combs Sr. and Millie Vance Combs Tomblin. Also preceding him in death were a daughter-in-law, Amy Marie Combs and a sister-in-law, Pauline Combs. Bert was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church since 1985 and a former Pastor of Lighthouse Freewill Baptist Church on Big Branch Road in Chesapeake, Ohio. He enjoyed discussing the Bible and deer hunting with his brother, Duane, and dearly loved his pets, "Bella and Sweet Pea." Not only was he a loving husband, but he was also a loving father to Michelle (Jason) Leaor of Huntington, W.Va., and Christopher (Cindy) Combs of Hurricane, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Andrew Combs, Emily (Austin) Murray, Aubriella Combs; a sister, Siddy Combs Wickline of Lavalette, W.Va.; two brothers, Jerry Combs Jr. of Lavalette, W.Va., Duane (Peggy) Combs; two sisters-in-law, Jane Mills (Leroy), Terri Ross (Ron) all of Wayne, W.Va.; three brothers-in-law, Dennis Napier of Lavalette, W.Va., Mark Napier (Jewell) of Wayne, W.Va., Tommy Napier (Stacy) of Olive Hill, Ky., and a host of nieces, nephews and extended friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne, W.Va. The family would like to thank their Hospice caregivers, Sandy, Trish and Jackie.
