Bessie Nelson Obituary
BESSIE MAE NELSON, 89, of Lavalette, WV went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted Noon Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Rex Maynard and Brother Paul Runyon. Burial will follow at Sol Perry Cemetery, Dunlow, WV.
She was born April 14, 1936 in Wayne, WV, a daughter of the late Luther Ramey and Mae Spence Ramey. Bessie was a homemaker and member of the Echo United Baptist Church.
Her husband, Elder Lucian Nelson also preceded her in death, along with a daughter, Evelyn Marie Nelson; two brothers, Tolliver James Ramey and Luther Henry Ramey, Jr.; and a sister, Linda M. Fry.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Stella Faye Nelson (Craig Bennett) of Lavalette, WV and her nieces and nephews, John and Jan Hollinsworth of Chicago, IL, Edward and Melissa Ramey of Huntington, WV, Georgia Ruth Maynard of Wayne, WV.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne, WV.
