BRYAN FERRELL "SHORTY" MILLS

BRYAN FERRELL "SHORTY" MILLS, 90, of Wayne, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roger Perry officiating. Burial will follow at the Mills Cemetery, East Lynn, W.Va., with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 93. Shorty was born on July 28, 1925, in East Lynn, WV, to the late Lewis Mills and Olive Dickerson Mills. He worked as a self-employed carpenter and was a Navy veteran having served in World War II. He was a member of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher and a deacon. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Mills; sisters, Mary Bing, Cora Mills, Sarah Queen Marshall and Arbutus Smith; brothers Cullie, Lewis Glenn, Henry, John, Truman and Appie Mills. Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews; step daughter Christine Wooten; step son Roy Lewis, Jr.; and special caregivers, Dutchess McComas, Pam Black and Rhonda Moine. The family would like to send a special thanks to Grayson Assisted Living and would like you to remember Shorty as the kind loving Christian gentleman that he was. Visitation will be held from noon until service time on Monday.
