CHARLES DAVID PULLEN

CHARLES DAVID PULLEN, 76, of Hamlin, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 29, 2018, in Teays Valley Medical Center. Those that knew David described him as a loving husband, father and papaw. One who always helped his neighbors and Trace Fork Church. He was a mentor to many young men and women. He was the son of the late William Howard Pullen and Jewell Oxley Pullen. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 49 years, Regina Frye Pullen; one daughter, Kelli Lynn Estep and husband James Estep; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Brooke, Makenzie Lea, Bayleigh Suzanne; two sisters, Betty Sturgeon, Leora Shelton and many nieces and nephews. He was a 1961 graduate of Hamlin High School. He served in the U.S. Army after high school. He retired from Lincoln County Board of Education, former owner of Pullen Super Market and Realtor for West Teays Realty. He was a member of Hamlin Masonic Lodge #79 and Past Master. David loved his only child Kelli unconditionally and his three grandchildren were his pride and joy. The family would like to offer thanks to his best friend Dannie Adkins who was like brother to him, and all his coon hunting friends who offered continued support and friendship during his short illness. Special thanks to Trace Fork Church and Open Door Church. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, W.Va., with Rev. Alan Frye and Pastor Ron Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in Trace Fork Cemetery, Hamlin, W.Va. Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, W.Va.
