DANIEL WESLEY WRIGHT, 82, of Huntington, W.Va., died Monday, March 20, 2017, at home. He was born in New Castle, Pa., January 30, 1935, son of the late Mel and Lois Wright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lee Wright Fricke. He is survived by his wife, Sue Edmonds Wright, and their children, Sydney Edmonds Poore (Russell) of Lexington, Ky., Susan Edmonds Whisman, David Edmonds (Lynn), Kristin Wright Giles, Stacy Edmonds Wheeler (Darren) of Muncie Ind., and Kurtis Wright (Karen). He is also survived by children from his first marriage, Marcia, Gregory and Cheryl Wright. Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 24, at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary by Ryan Stoner, with visitation from noon until service time. Interment will be private for the family. Dan was a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Engineering. He was involved in construction most of his life, first in designing bridges, intercostal highways and commercial structures, later building homes, condos and offices throughout the tri-state area, finally moving into sales of building equipment and supplies. At the time of his retirement, he was owner of Wright's Window Works in Huntington. He is also survived by a sister, Sue Wright Barnhouse (Gary) of Columbus, Ohio, and a brother, Vernon Wright (Sherry) of Long Beach, Calif., as well as grandchildren, Amy Wheeler, Ella Giles, Charlotte Edmonds, Nathan Edmonds, Nicholas Golden, Elizabeth Poore Borders (Jamie), Joshua Whisman, William Poore (Lindsay), Teddy Poore (Samantha), and two great-grandchildren, Daisy Cameron Borders and Russell Edmond Poore IV, and several nieces and nephews.
