DAVID LEE RUNNELS

1945 - 2018

DAVID LEE RUNNELS, 72, of Ironton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday March 10, 2018, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Ky. He was born December 14, 1945, in Huntington, W.Va., to the late Roy and Ola Mae Scarberry Runnels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Curry and Shirley McKinney. He is survived by four children, Kimberly Lynn (Ronnie II) Kearns, Shawn David (Lisa) Runnels, Scott David (Shannon) Runnels and Matthew Lee Runnels; seven grandchildren, Trey, Montana, Kylie, Cane, Peyton, Hunter and Paige; two siblings, Ronald (Denise) Runnels and Patricia Vickers; and special companion Tammy Riggs. He was a past Reserve Deputy for the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department and was a retired bus driver with TTA. He attended Christ Temple Church and loved Marshall University sports. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the Community Hospice Care Center of Ashland, Ky. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington, W.Va.
