REV. DAVID CLINTON WITHERSPOON, 87, passed away on May 15, 2015. Born December 9, 1927, in Winston Salem, N.C., he was the son of the late Jesse and Rosalee Murray Witherspoon. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church and the Baptists Ministers Conference. He is survived by his wife Anna Lois Oakley Witherspoon; his children Diane Cecilia Reddix, David C. Witherspoon Jr., E. Marzetta Flournoy, Brenda Witherspoon Taylor, Armilenta (Willard) Witherspoon Radford, and David Clinton Omodare; his siblings Jesse Witherspoon, Thomas Witherspoon, Curtis Witherspoon, Margaret Kidd and Katherine Oden; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law Betty Carter; Uncle George T. Gray Sr.; special friends Cliff Winston and James Linthicum. Visitation will be held at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Huntington on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at the 16th Street Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Terry and Rev. Dr. Douglas Carter, officiating. Mausoleum entombment with military honors will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.
