Dorothy Booker Obituary

DOROTHY "DOT" JEAN BOOKER, of South Point, OH, God called her to be with Him on Thursday, October 30, 2025 surrounded by her family. On April 18, 1938, Dorothy Jean, the oldest of two brothers, John R. England and Charles (Jackie) England, was born to the late John C. and Catherine Toms England in Burlington, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Booker; one daughter, Kathy Weems; and one brother, John Calvin.
Dot attended Burlington Elementary School and South Point High School and graduated in 1955. She attended Marshall University and West Virginia Business School. She retired after 30 years of service from Ashland Oil, Inc., as the Supervisor of the Micrographics Department.
Dot accepted Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church of Burlington. The training she received there laid the foundation for her life. Dot or Sister Booker, as some called her, was an avid reader and a whiz at word searches. She loved her children and grandchildren. She delighted in volunteering at the Church Service and KDMC for many years. She cherished cooking for her loving husband and children.
Dot leaves behind the six, as Randy would say, Bernitta (Neet) Dawson, Wesley (Denise) Booker, Fredrick Booker, Michael Daniels, Angela Tomlinson, and Melissa Quarterman; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, November 13, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Burlington. Graveside and burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH. Following the graveside service, the family welcomes you to join them for a repass at the church to share memories and comfort.
Wallace Family Funeral Home, South Point, OH, is honored to assist the family with arrangements.

My dearest friend and Soror Angela, I´m so sorry to hear of Mom Booker´s passing. The love you two had for each other was phenomenal. I´m so glad I had the pleasure of visiting and spending time with your mother.
