Duane Allen Hite

DUANE ALLEN HITE, of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, at the age of 72, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 8, 1952, in Huntington, WV, Duane was the cherished son of the late Dale and Betty Hite. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his dear brother-in-law, Stan Brothers, whose memory will always be treasured.
Duane is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 23 years, Stephanie Brothers Hite, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. He is also survived by his three caring sisters, Shelley (Gary) Weather Holt, Terry (Charley) Johnson, and Lesley Mitchell; his supportive brother, Darrell (Cecilia) Hite; his cherished daughter, Summer (Larry) Sheppard; his beloved stepson, Travis White; his loving mother-in-law, Ruth Ellen Brothers; his precious granddaughter, Payson Sheppard, with whom he shared a bond, particularly in their mutual love for penguins.
Duane's warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and his former wife, Nancy Holliday, as well as by all who knew and loved him. Although Duane will be greatly missed here on Earth, we rejoice knowing he has entered his Heavenly Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the Community of Grace United Methodist Church, located at 225 28th Street, Huntington, WV 25702, from 4 to 6 p.m.
In Duane's memory, the family encourages everyone to wear something red, as it was Duane's favorite color. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Community of Grace United Methodist Church or Hospice House of Huntington in honor of his memory.
