EDWIN ADAMS
NOVAK (1953 to 2023)
EDWIN NOVAK, son of Dr. Elaine Novak and brother to Deborah Novak, died on May 19 in New York City.
Eddie was born on June 12, 1953, in Huntington, W.Va., and attended the Marshall Lab School from kindergarten through the 9th Grade. An outstanding student, he played the cello and was a fixture in the Lab School's string ensemble, under the direction of Patricia Green. When the Lab School closed its doors, he transferred to Huntington East High School, where he was a leading member of the school's debate team and valedictorian of his 1971 class.
Eddie went to Marshall University where he came under the aegis of Dr. Simon Perry, who taught him about political science and how to be a well-rounded scholar. He graduated Marshall with a perfect 4.0 average and was accepted to Columbia University's School of Law. Graduating in 1977 and passing the bar, he began to practice New York City real estate law, making a name for himself in the field with a 45-year career.
Eddie loved baseball, which he learned from his grandfather, Dr. Edwin Adams, he adored dogs, particularly Bichon Frise, and long walks on the beach at his East Hampton home.
Eddie will be missed by all his friends, especially his special friend, Alonzo.
