EVERETT ADKINS, 81 of Kenova, W.Va., passed away on December 30, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born on May 6, 1933, in Lackeyville, Ky., a son of Herbert Adkins and Sadie Lucille Varney. Everett was married to the love of his life Ermalene for 63 years. He honorably served his beloved country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. He was a carpenter in the Carpenter's Local 302. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ellis Adkins (Jerry Lou) and his brother-in-law, Milton Pulley. Everett leaves behind to mourn his loss his beloved wife Ermalene; their only child Dolores Ann Lowe (David) of Teays Valley, W.Va.; two grandchildren, April Withrow (Justin) and Matthew Lowe (Jessica); and two great-grandchildren, Olivia Withrow and Jace Withrow. Also surviving are his brothers Earl Adkins (Sharla) and Glen Adkins (Jennifer); his sisters Edith Pulley and Geraldine Light (Don) and a special sister-in-law Janice Riggs. A memorial service for Everett will be held at the Kenova Church of God, of which he was a member, 16th and Maple Streets at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015.
