Frank Lee Kennedy

FRANK LEE KENNEDY, 77, of Wayne, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, W.Va. He was born January 21, 1947, at Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Frank Gordon Kennedy and Anna Elizabeth Susan Kennedy. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Kennedy, sister Mary Johnson, as well as his late wives, Gloria Maye Kennedy and Elizabeth Fay Kennedy, and a son, Dwayne Staley. Frank was a bricklayer and stone mason for more than forty years. He loved his job and took great pride in his work. Frank was a member of Harmony Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending his time golfing with friends and family as well as attending race car events with his sons. He is survived by his wife, Connie Hardwick Kennedy of Wayne; four sons. John Frank Kennedy (Melissa) of Kenova, W.Va., Jeffery Scott Kennedy (Tammy) of Huntington, W.Va., and Robert Shawn Kennedy (Tina) of South Point, Ohio, Steve Hardwick (Rebecca) of Scott City, Miss.; three daughters, Angie Dawn Keaton (Dale) of Martha, Ky., Alisha Danae Martin (Mike) of Ashland, Ky., and Karen Ekers (Brandon) of Wayne, W.Va.; fifteen grandchildren, Johnathan Kennedy, Taylor Kennedy Mercier, Jayda Messer, Billie Messer, Tucker Kennedy, Trent Vinson, Keona Kennedy, Emily Smith, Johrden Williamson, Aubree Hardwick, Mason Hardwick, Ava Hardwick, Alie Hardwick, Jayden Osborne, Madilynn Osborne; eleven great-grandchildren, Maylee Kennedy, Ellie Mercier, Myka Vinson, Lucas Vinson, Kinlee Smith, Zoey Smith, Benjamin Smith, Cole Williamson, Carsyn Williamson, Zaine Williamson, and Callie Williamson; a very special sister and brother-in-law, Dora and Will Spence of Wayne; along with a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2024, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, with Pastor Michael Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova. Visitation will be two hours prior to funeral services at the funeral home.
