GENEVIEVE NEVILLE Obituary

GENEVIEVE "GINNY" NEVILLE, born February 13, 1933, passed on to heaven on November 22, 2015, surrounded by her devoted husband, children and grandchildren. Ginny was a member of the Ironton High School class of 1951. She resided most of her life at Ironton until several years ago when she and her husband moved to a home on the river at Burlington, Ohio, to live near two of their daughters. She married William "Bill" Neville on June 7, 1952; they are members of the Community Baptist Missionary Church at Deering, Ohio. Ginny was a devoted stay-at-home wife and mother to five daughters, always finding time to be involved with her kids in church, piano lessons, long summer days at Lawco Lake, Band Boosters and PTA. In later years, she was employed at several area Hallmark stores, including Amy's Hallmark at the Ashland Mall, from which she retired. She loved her work with Hallmark, especially the buying and collecting the many Hallmark ornaments! A committed wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ginny especially loved cooking southern style Sunday dinners and awesome holiday meals. The Christmas season was her favorite, when she would decorate her home with the Hallmark ornaments and decorations, bake far too many cookies, and prepare many desserts. There were never too many desserts at Ginny's house! Most of all, she loved the numerous vacations with her husband, children and all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren to Disney World, Hilton Head Island, the Florida beaches, and Myrtle Beach. She was fortunate to enjoy her dream trips to the Hawaiian Islands and the Southern antebellum plantations near New Orleans. Ginny was met in heaven by her infant son Stephen Douglas Neville, her mother Stella Bushbaum and father Walter Bushbaum, and sister Betty Church. Family missing her beyond words are husband Bill Neville, daughters Brenda Neville, Kathy (Mark) Jerasonek, Debbie (Mark) Layne, Beverly Hoskins, and Terri Schneider; grandchildren, Tyler (Mandy) Layne, Melissa (John) Mautz, Brittany (Felix) Rouse, Grant (Ashley) Layne, Cortni (Matt) Schneider, Kiana Hoskins and Cole Schneider; and great-grandchildren Alexander Spaulding, Carson Layne and McKenna Royal; sister Pam Stilton; niece Sharon Posten; sister-in-law Wanda Brammer; brother-in-law Fred "Red" Neville, and many other extended family members. From her family, a very heartfelt thanks to those who assisted in her care this past few weeks, Debbie, Traci, Donna, neighbor Janet, and the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, W.Va. You may, in lieu of flowers, make a contribution to the Birdie Neville Memorial Fund, c/o Community Baptist Missionary Church, 4049 SR 243, Ironton, OH 45638. At her request, there will be graveside services. The service will take place at Woodland Cemetery on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, beginning at 1 p.m. Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton will be assisting the family.
