Gypsy Bernice Fields

GYPSY BERNICE BLANKENSHIP FIELDS, 88, of Wayne, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Emogene Dolan Jones Hospice House. She was born September 29, 1937 in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late Henry L. Blankenship and Nina A. Cyrus Blankenship.
Gypsy was a devoted Christian and loved worshiping her Lord and Savior. She attended New Vision Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher for more than 80 years as well as sang in the choir. She also loved to sew and raise vegetables in her garden as well as can her crop. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Reeves, along with two nephews, Lee Reeves and Mike Skeens.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Arthur Fields, Jr., her son, Gordon Fields and wife, Amy (Stephens) Fields; a grandson, Dylan Fields, all of Wayne, WV; a sister, Hazel Fields and husband, Alvin; a niece, Annette Skeens; a nephew, Randall Fields and wife, Diane, all of Wayne, WV; three great nieces, Shelby (Fields) Kitts and husband, Dustin, along with their children, Everleigh and Cohen Kitts, all of Genoa, WV; Ashley Bauman (Kody) and Amelia Bauman of Huntington, WV; a niece-in-law, Katrina Reeves of Wayne, WV; along with a host of additional family.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Garrett Hale and Pastor Jeremy Eastwood. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Wayne, WV. Visitation will be from Noon until service time.
Gypsy had a great love for people and was special to so many. She will be missed tremendously by all who knew her.
