JOHN WILLIAM "BILL" McLAUGHLIN, 85, of Huntington, WV, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025, at his residence. Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Woodmere Memorial Park Abbey of Remembrance Mausoleum, with Pastor Jerry Matt officiating.
Bill was born August 1, 1940, in Huntington WV, the son of the late John and Elizabeth Beekman McLaughlin. He retired from Chandler's after 50 years of service, where he used his master carpentry skill to make beautiful cabinets for decades. He was very precise with his work, and it showed. Bill loved watching the Cincinnati Reds. He witnessed the Big Red Machine win back-to-back World Series Championships in 1975 - 1976.
Along with Bill's parents he was proceeded in death by his nephew Mike Jenkins, and his brother-in-law Ray Jenkins. Survivors include his sister Jeanette Jenkins; nephew David (Dee) Jenkins, all of Huntington; Niece Kathy (Scott) Sturgeon, of Barboursville, WV, and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be after 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the cemetery.
