Johnny P. Goodrich

JOHNNY P. GOODRICH, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 22, 2025 at Cleveland Clinic, at the age of 88. He was born in Huntington, WV on Novemeber 14, 1936.
John was known for his kind heart, compassion to all animals, and his unwavering dedication to his family. John was the proud husband to his beloved late wife, Lois Goodrich, for 61 years and a devoted father.
He is survived by his children, John (Cyndi) of Texas, Rick (Tammy) of NC, Catherine Goodrich of New York City, Karen Brown (Steve) of Ohio, and Sandra Greenwood (Steve) of Costa Rica; nine grandchildren, Carla, Tabitha, Alicia, Steve, Bryan, Natalie, Jessica, Marenda, and Abbi; twelve great - grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter; and his sister, Dorothy Meadows (Clint).
In addition to his wife, Lois and his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Alice R. Chapman; and two brothers, Joseph E. (Toby) and Gary E. Goodrich.
Johnny graduated from Huntington East Trade School and served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the asbestos workers local 80 for over 50 years, spending 33 years as a sub-contractor at DuPont. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #3 AF & FM and a Nemesis Shrine.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg, with Rev. Edward Craft officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held on May 5, 2025 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Due to Allergies, the family has requested no flowers. In lieu of flowers, please considering donations be made in John's honor to the Humane Society of Parkersburg.
