Joyce Adkins Obituary
JOYCE ANNE ADKINS was welcomed into eternal peace on March 10, 2026.
She had an unwavering love of family, country music, and slot machines. Joyce was a graduate of Huntington High School, a proud retiree of CSX and she loved spending Saturdays cheering for the Herd. She shopped til she dropped, had an eye for antique cars, a green thumb, and was known to request copious amounts of condiments with every meal she ate. Joyce loved traveling the country with her lifelong friends and taking yearly trips to Daytona Beach.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, George "Jerry" Adkins, and her parents Ann and Samuel Morgan.
She is survived by her sons Jeff and Rodney Adkins, and her grandchildren for whom she was the most proud: Alexie (Hilary), Jake (Jenna), and Max. And two great-grandchildren, Bryar and Bodie Adkins, along with close friends, relatives, and her loving dog Lucy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary and Cremation Services 1592 E. Pea Ridge Rd., Huntington, WV near Barboursville. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the mortuary.
