Larry Blake Obituary
LARRY FRANKLIN BLAKE, 82, of Proctorville, OH, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Rob Jones officiating. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Larry was born February 4, 1942 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Fred A. Blake and Louise Ray Blake. He retired from the Cabell County Board of Education where he filled numerous roles. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. In addition to his parents and his wife Lois, he was preceded in death by his brother Bernard. Survivors include: son Larry Franklin Blake II (Patricia); daughter Rebecca Blake Aviv; grandchildren Kayla Blake and Tyler Aviv; sister Margaret Johnson; and very special friends Fred and Judy Ray and Dave Gilbert. Larry was known for many things, but at the top of that list was his love of old cars, particularly those of the street rod variety. The list of Larry's loves wouldn't be complete without a mention of his beloved dog "Charlie." Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Chapman's Mortuary. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.chapmans-mortuary.com.
