Marlene Gray Obituary

MARLENE CLAGG GRAY, 88, of Winter Haven, Florida, died Wednesday, September 3, 2025 after a brief illness.
She was born October 28, 1936, in Huntington, West Virginia, the daughter of Bertha Johnson and James Oscar Clagg.
She graduated from Huntington High School and Marshall University School of Nursing. She married Reynolds Ayers (Bus) Gray in 1959. She worked as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Cabell Huntington Hospital and then in the office of Dr. Charles L. Yarbrough. She was an active member of Enslow Park Presbyterian Church in Huntington for many years before relocating to Florida. During retirement, she enjoyed reading, spending time with her friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and caring for her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bus, her loving companion Fred H. Sammons, and her sister Sandy Jean Stiltner.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laura Gray and Carter Elkins of Englewood, Florida; daughter Susan Owens, grandchildren Darcie and Tanner Owens, grandson-in-law Jay Hendry, and great grandchildren Caroline and Margaret Hendry of Winter Haven, Florida; son, David Gray of Winchester, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
No services will be held, as requested.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Enslow Park Presbyterian Church, or any food pantry or animal shelter would be welcomed.

So very sorry to hear of Marlene´s passing. I worked with her for many years at Dr. Yarbrough´s office . She was a sweet lady and a terrific office manager. Prayers and thoughts to her family during this difficult time.
