Mary L. Wells

MARY L. WELLS, 99, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the Concord Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg, Ohio. The South Point native was born December 22, 1925 a daughter of the late Edward Legg and Lydia Mills Legg.
Mary lived all of her life in Lawrence County and was a 1943 graduate of South Point High School. She took great pride in being a homemaker and was a wonderful, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mary was a former member of the Pine Street United Methodist Church and was attending the Resurrection Hope Methodist Church in Ironton. She was a former member of the Lawrence Chapter #437, Order of Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her husband, Raymond S. Wells, 3 children, Pamela Wells, Tom Wells and Donna Douglas, daughter-in-law, Suzanne Wells, son-in-law, John Douglas, grandson, Matthew Timothy Walters, 3 brothers, Fred Legg, Charles Legg, Don Legg and 3 sisters, Mildred Bailey, Ethel Federswich and Ruth Clemons
Those left to cherish Mary's memory are her son, Larry "Tank" Wells and her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Tim Walters both of Ironton, daughter-in-law, Georgia Wells of Whitestown, IN.
11 grandchildren, Kenny Wells, Pat Braun, Kenele Malia Ebbini, Michelle Wells, Thomas Wells, Donna Lawless, John Douglas, Tom Douglas, Kevin Wells, Kelli Fuhr, and Michael Walters
and a host of great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2025 in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, Ohio with Pastor Terry Jones officiating. There will be no public visitation time.
