Millie "Jane" Adams

MILLIE "JANE" ADAMS, 90, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, in South Point, Ohio. Born on February 9, 1935, in Lawrence County, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Wilson) Nance. Millie's devotion to her family was further exemplified in her marriage to her beloved spouse, Merle, whom she married on June 3, 1987, he preceded her in death on November 18, 2008.
Millie attended Waterloo High School, She worked diligently as a cook for Ashland Oil for seven years and shared her warmth and wisdom as a teacher assistant. She was a loving mother who relished spending quality time with her family. Her passion for cooking and her role as a homemaker brought comfort and happiness to those she loved. Everyone especially loved her biscuits and gravy. Millie's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a dedicated member of Linnville United Baptist Church, where she found strength and community.
In addition to her parents and husband, Millie was preceded in death by; son: Kenneth Fout, grandson: Bobby Fout, daughter-in-law: Birdie Fout , son-in-law: David Schochler, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
Millie's legacy is carried on by her children, Connie Sue (Jack) Hatfield and Donald "Jim" (Tanna) Fout, as well as her stepdaughters, Tracy (Robert) Drake, Stacy (Brian) Ellewood, and Dawnya (David) Boggs. Her sister, Mary (Carl) Simpson and her brother, Bobby (Betty) Nance. Millie's joy was multiplied with the birth of each of her 3 grandchildren and further still with her 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Millie's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street, Ironton, Ohio with Pastor Jeremy Simpson and Rev. Roger Smathers officiating. Burial will follow in Locus Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
