OREL "BIG" DALE JACKSON, 82, of South Point, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Dale was born September 27, 1943, at home in Cabell County, West Virginia, a son of the late Rev. Lucian & Beulah Jackson.
Dale was a retired Journeyman Millwright who went on to start Jackson and Son's LLC with his son, Dale. He instilled work ethic and patience in his sons and grandsons and was a jack of all trades. His love for cars, especially Corvettes, was also handed down to his sons and grandsons. Dale loved giving words of wisdom to all who listened and enjoyed teaching and mentoring his grandsons, Brandin and Braden. He also educated everyone on "how to fall", as he could be clumsy at times. His favorite pastime was music. He loved to sing and was a member of two gospel groups, The Mountaineers and The Prodigal Sons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Judy Ann Jackson; a son, Roy Dale Jackson, brothers Gordon and Otho Jackson, and sisters Loralee Riggs and Ceola Jackson.
Dale is survived by his devoted son and daughter-in-law, Dale Jackson, II (Brandi) of South Point, OH, son, Jimmy Dale Jackson, of Cleveland, OH; his much loved grandchildren, Brandin Dale Jackson and Braden Dale Jackson, both of South Point, OH, who were his pride and joy; grandchildren, Billy Jackson and Brittany Jackson Porcelli, both of Cleveland, OH; a very special great-grandson, Brantley Dale Jackson; sister, Roberta Baker of New Martinsville, WV; brother, Rick (Denise) Jackson of Berlin Heights, OH; sisters-in-law Arbutus (Bootsie) Bell, Pauline Barker and Joyce Baire, all of Emmons, WV and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors that treated him like their own.
A special thank you to his brother, Rick Jackson; nephew, Greg Riggs; nieces, Lisa Carter, Diane Sexton and Lisa Lowe; sister-in-law, Bootsie Bell; and special friends, Jordan Lynd, Shawn Taylor, and David Hamm for all their love and support.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Wallace Family Funeral Home, South Point, OH with Pastor Chadd Hatfield and Brother Kenneth Samms officiating. Burial will follow at Barker Cemetery, Ashford, WV. Family and friends may visit on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home, a time for shared memories and support.
