Patrick Regan Obituary

PATRICK MICHAEL REGAN was born on December 15, 1949, to parents George and Dorothea Regan, their firstborn son.
From the beginning, his parents hoped he would do great things and help people. Patrick, in turn, dedicated his life to this purpose until his final breath at the age of seventy-six. Patrick's accomplishments were many. Following his graduation from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1974, his professional career took him to West Virginia, where he served as a commissioned officer in the United States Public Health Service at the Harts Creek Clinic in Harts, West Virginia, earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Shenandoah University, and served nineteen (19) years as a pharmacist with the Herschel "Woody" Williams VA Medical Center in Huntington. Following his retirement from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Patrick served as an Inspector with the West Virginia Board of Pharmacy.
Beyond his professional work, Patrick devoted himself to service. He served as an EMT and Paramedic with the Lincoln County EMS and a volunteer firefighter with the Hamlin VFD, where he was known not only for his commitment but for moments of true heroism, saving lives and showing up when others were in need.
In West Virginia, Patrick found his soulmate and true love, his wife Carolyn (nee Adkins) Regan, who predeceased him. Their life together was a source of deep happiness and grounding for Patrick. Patrick was a devoted father to his sons, Sean and Matt. Together, they worked as a team to ensure their father's passage was as comfortable and peaceful as possible, a final act of love that reflected the bond they shared. Matt is engaged to be married to Breeanna Brock, who has been a loving and steady presence by his side.
Patrick will be deeply missed by those who loved him, including his siblings George (Carol) Regan of Weatherby Lake, Missouri, Ann (Paul) Regan-Jean of Port Charlotte, Florida, Dorothy Regan (Chuck Windeknecht) of Pelham, New York, as well as his loving niece Danielle Regan of Pelham, New York.
He inspired many throughout his life and was a mentor to those fortunate enough to learn from him. His legacy is one of service, compassion, dedication, and love, and it lives on through his family and all those whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman's Mortuary in Huntington. A funeral service will be held at Chapman's Mortuary on Friday, February 6, at 1 p.m. with burial, next to his beloved wife, Carolyn, at Ridgelawn Memorial Park to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Patrick's honor to Hospice of Huntington at 1101 Sixth Ave, Huntington, WV 25701 (HospiceOfHuntington.org).

He was a friend. We were EMT´s and Paramedics. We spent many hours working together and serving the community as volunteers with the Hamlin fire department and Lincoln Volunteer service. I miss him already. He made us all better people.
