Dear Chuck,
My heart felt condolences go out to you and to all of your family. Everyone who knew Phyllis perceived her as a very special lady. She was a very giving lady and loved by all that knew her. She will be missed by many for a great number of years. Don Wassum

I remember Mrs. Romine as perhaps my favorite substitute teacher during my years as a student at Barboursville Elementary School in the late 70's and early 80's. She was kind, gentle, compassionate, and faithful. What's more, she was genuine in all things and really cared about her students and the impact she could have on each of them, even if only for a day. She made learning seem more an adventure than an undertaking, simply by the way she approached both student and subject alike. Students in her class were always the envy of those with other substitute, to say the very least! I extend my prayers for comfort to her family, reminding them of the sage words of Winnie the Pooh, who once said, "How Lucky I am to have had something that makes saying goodbye so hard. (A.A. Milne)" May her memory be a blessing and her faith a living legacy in tribute to her Lord.

Though I didn't know Phyllis and had only met her once, I've known her daughter, Anne for almost 10 years. If knowing Anne tells me anything about her mother, it is that she must have been so kind, welcoming and warm. I have had her banana bread and can tell you, it's the best I've ever had. She has certainly passed her skill in cooking on to her daughter. Losing a loved one is hard, but losing a parent is a whole other ballgame. I'm so very sorry for your loss. You know she is in heaven, resting and smiling down, proud of her family that she created. My condolences to you.
