ROBIN ADKINS Obituary

"You quench my heart, and love, you quench my mind. Let's celebrate, oh celebrate, we will, 'cause life is short but sweet for certain." - Dave Matthews. ROBIN ELIZABETH ADKINS, age 62, passed away peacefully in her home on May 14th, 2018 surrounded by those who loved her most. Robin was born in Huntington and spent a portion of her childhood in New York and New Jersey. Those who knew Robin knew her as a fierce animal rights advocate, radical feminist, staunch champion for anyone in need, but most of all as a person filled with love and light. Robin married her husband, Randall Adkins, in 1978 after a whirlwind courtship. Their three children and spouses are Tim Adkins and Amanda Coleman, Michelle and Ben Thacker, and Paige and Jeff Markun, who were her world. Those children gave her seven grandchildren who quickly eclipsed her children in her heart, which is exactly what we expected. She taught Mea, Brennan, Lil, Luca, Keir, Telly, and Nico to squeeze the joy out of every moment, to care deeply for others and to always, always find a reason to dance as though no one was watching. Robin was preceded in death by her parents and dear grandparents: Howard Whitehair, Elizabeth Dennison, John and Mary Whitehair, Julian and Lillian Aldridge, as well as her beloved dog, George. Many beloved family and friends will carry on her free-spirited, loving legacy: Dawn Greene and the Aldridge family, the Lieving family, the Fredrick family, and Katy Smith. It is exceedingly difficult to sum up a life in so few words. All we know is that the world is a better place, and our lives were better, because she was in it. We will host a celebration of Robin's life during her favorite month of October. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Robin's name to One By One Animal Rescue, 216 Eleventh Avenue West, Huntington West Virginia, 25701. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio, is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.

Randall and Family; while we knew Robin's situation was dire we'd not heard until now of her death. Living in the West we do not regularly see the Huntington news paper. Nevertheless we send love and prayers for all of you as you carry on. We have been praying peace for Robin all this time and now know she rests in that peace. May you find peace in the love, family and shared memories over a life time. God bless.
