SANDRA SALYERS Obituary
SANDRA SUE SALYERS, 75, of Huntington, W.Va., died Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at her residence. Funeral service will be conducted at noon Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Dr. Jerry Wood officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Sandra was born July 27, 1942, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Waitman and Lena Krames York. She retired from Corbin Limited, and she was a member of the Beverly Hills United Methodist Church where she was the Treasurer for the Prayer Shaw Ministry and a member of Woodmenlife. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Morrison, and a daughter-in-law, Beckie Salyers. Survivors include her husband, Larry G. Salyers; one daughter, Becky Lego of Huntington; three sons, Greg Salyers (Laurie) of Richmond, Va., David Salyers (Joey) of Proctorville, Ohio, Brian Salyers (Teresa) of Charlotte, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth Salyers, Zach Lego (Kelley), Jordan Salyers, Eric Salyers (Brianna), Evan Salyers (Carly), Cara Salyers, Ally Salyers, Faith Salyers and Brennen West; two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Hadley Lego; two brothers, Jim York (Norma), Eddie York (Linda); and a brother-in-law, Thomas Morrison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beverly Hills United Methodist Church or the Prayer Shaw Ministry. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary. Online condolences may be sent to www.chapmans-mortuary.com.

Sandra was a special lady and I always looked forward to seeing her at church as she had special happy up-dates of Zach, Kelly and all her loved ones. My deepest sympathy is extended to Larry, Becky and all the family as she will be truly missed.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my cousin Sandra. Essentially the same age, we grew up together and some of my fondest memories are of those times we got together at Mamaw and Papaw Krames for those great dinners. I spoke to her a couple weeks ago and joked about our good long-living genes since Aunt Lena lived to be 95 and my dad to 88. I guess God had a different plan for Sandra. I'll miss her and our long conversations. My heart goes out to Larry and family during this time of great loss.

I worked with Sandy many years ago at Corbin, Ltd. She was always a bright spot in our day, especially when we had pot lucks and dinners. She loved to cook and bring new recipes and was eager to share them. She submitted many recipes for our Corbin, Ltd Cookbook that I will always have to cherish and remember her by. Prayers for the family and many friends. Sandy ..you will be missed by so many that loved you.
