MATTOON - Barbara (Barb) J. Roady, 88, of Mattoon, IL, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away at 9:30 PM on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Brookstone Estates North in Mattoon, IL.
Barbara was born on January 16, 1935, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of John and Hattie (Belcher) Bernard. She married Charles E. Roady on August 12, 1952. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2007.
Barbara loved going camping with her family and friends. She also loved crocheting and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan.
She is survived by her son, Charles Roady Jr., and wife Candace of Mattoon, IL.; two grandsons: Craig Roady and wife Danielle of Washington, MO, and Clint Roady of Union, MO; three great-grandchildren: Colton Roady and wife Alex of Union, MO, Desiree' Roady of Washington, MO, and Hanna Roady of Washington, MO; one great-great-granddaughter, Evangeline Roady of Union, MO.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; one sister, Marion Duncan; and two brothers: Leroy Bernard and Robert Bernard.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at Macon County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to Brookstone Estates North in Mattoon, IL, and all of the staff that made Barbara's last years like being at home.
