HAMMOND - Beverly Joanne Davis, 91, of Hammond, IL, a sassy angel got her wings and went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
Beverly was born on February 19, 1934 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Lester and Lora Lucille (Price) Hayes. She married Lyle Robert Davis on April 15, 1953. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1991. Beverly was a buyer for K's Merchandise for 32 years, retiring in 2001.
Beverly was a member of Hammond Missionary Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, puzzles and playing board games with her sisters.
Beverly is survived by her children: Robert Davis of Chesterfield, VA, Nancy Ulbricht of Atwood, IL, Randall Davis of Tucson, AZ, Roger (Nina) Davis of Blue Ridge, GA and Brenda Rigg of Decatur, IL; siblings: Jacqueline Burke of Blue Mound, IL, Lester (Katie) Hayes of Decatur, IL, Sheryl Muirheid of Blue Mound, IL and Sophia Fulk of Blue Mound, IL; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Ronald Davis, sisters: Marilyn Goulding and Carolyn Handy, brothers: Michael Hayes, Lynn Hayes and Jeff Hayes, daughter-in-law: Lea Ann Davis, brothers-in-law: Bill Ulbricht and Tom Rigg.
A service to honor Beverly's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Hammond Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Beverly will be laid to rest at Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hammond Missionary Baptist Church.
