Charles Hackert Obituary

Charles Hackert

July 8, 1944 - March 2, 2025

Charles "Chuck" Hackert (Macon, IL) took his final ride to the Badlands on March 2nd, 2025. He is survived by his daughters, Tamara Lewis (Tom) and Teresa Lee (Tony), four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, brother, Jeff Hackert (Nancy), and sister, Barbara "Cookie" Ater (Art).

Chuck was a proud Veteran who served in the Army from June 1962 to May 1965. Though honorably discharged, true to his outlaw ways, he did find himself reprimanded more than once for playing music too loud past lights out. He will be remembered for his colorful character, motorcycle trips, and his epic garage filled with memorabilia, where friends gathered daily for drinks and to share stories. If the door was open, you were welcome but never forget the NO Dumping Rule!

A celebration of life will begin at 3 p.m. on June 21st at 1014 E. 3000 North Road, Moweaqua, IL.

Chuck was always part of our family I don't even know long. I was knee high to a grasshopper for sure. You always knew when he was there. I remember the day he told my dad "shorty you're the only man I know that could sit on a curb and still be able to dangle your feet" also many motorcycle rides. There are so many things. Gonna miss this man.
