Daniel Covey Obituary

DECATUR - Daniel E. Covey, 33, of Decatur, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at Loyola University Hospital, Maywood, IL. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 13, 2007, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation 6-8 P.M. Friday, October 12, at the funeral home. The family requests casual attire. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Gift of Hope. Daniel was born October 11, 1973, in Decatur, the son of George and Connie (Moreland) Covey. He worked at Decatur Memorial Hospital as a medical equipment technician. Daniel enjoyed golf, pool and darts, and he was an avid Cardinal fan. He really adored his two nephews, Braden and Clayton. Daniel is survived by his mother and step-father, Connie and Bill Baker of Decatur; brothers, Brian Covey of Decatur and Jeremy Covey and wife Rachael of Cameron, MO; aunt, Bonnie Grunden and companion Mike Ater of Decatur; companion, Jill Covey of Decatur; and several cousins. my greatest regret is that i didnt get to say goodbye i will always carry danny in my heart he was my best friend until i was 12 years old. i have so many memories that i am lucky enough to have shared with danny . connie i am so very sorry for your loss . just to know danny was a blessing, my life fell apart when he moved away . please tell jeremy i would love to talk to him my phone number is 422-2127

I worked with George at DMH for about ten years and I remember him telling me stories about his boys. It's a shame someone so young must leave before his time. I'm sorry for your loss.
